Front Coil Spring Compressor – Fits 1966–1971 Fairlane, Torino, Ranchero, Falcon, Comet, Montego & More

Looking for a safe, heavy-duty tool to service your front suspension? This is the original TommyZee’s coil spring compressor, trusted by thousands for over 30 years. Designed specifically for 1966–1971 Fairlane, Torino, Ranchero, Falcon, Comet, and Montego, it also works on similar-year Cougars and 1962–1967 Novas.

⚠️ Will NOT fit 1962–1965 Fairlanes.
⚠️ Top plate NOT included – not needed for these applications.
If you're working on a 1965–1973 Mustang, please purchase the Mustang version, which includes the correct top plate.

Key Features:

  • Heavy-duty 3/4"-10 threaded rod

  • Made from thick-gauge steel, MIG welded for strength

  • Designed for safe and repeatable spring compression

  • Detailed instructions included

  • Made in the USA by a certified welder with 24+ years of experience

  • Trusted, field-proven design – thousands sold

  • Often imitated, never duplicated

Important Note:

This tool does not come painted.
I do not have EPA-certified paint facilities. The tool is shipped bare metal—I recommend lightly oiling it to prevent surface rust.
It will get scratched during use regardless, so paint isn’t practical.

How It Works:

  1. Lower the threaded rod through the shock tower opening.

  2. Attach the tool to the lower spring saddle.

  3. Bolt the upper shock mount back onto the tower.

  4. Attach the washer and nut to the rod.

  5. Turn the nut clockwise to compress the spring about 3 inches.

  6. Unbolt the spring saddle and upper control arm from the car.

  7. Carefully back the nut off to release spring tension.

Reassembly is the reverse of removal.

If you're tackling front suspension work, this compressor is a must-have tool that combines safety, strength, and value.
Buy once—use for life.
